Success Stories
“Jennifer has been so helpful for our family! She came into our lives at just the right time. Our house was chaotic and stressful. We had just moved into a new house & our kids had to change schools. At first it was exciting & a new adventure but as we settled in, the reality hit of everything being different. Our son who is now nine years old & in third grade, was starting to act out. We had issues with his behavior in the past but nothing as extreme as it was getting. I was scared for our family, for my marriage, and mostly for my sweet boy. He was so angry all of the time & having terrible outbursts. Our nightly routine consisted of screaming and fighting and crying. It was awful. We had seen therapists in the past, but he was never diagnosed with anything except anxiety, so we felt like the advice that we were getting was not what we needed. I found Jennifer by googling “parenting classes”. I knew I had to get a handle on myself before I could handle my son. She was very warm & welcoming in the initial phone call. Our whole family met with her the first few times. She was always kind & empathetic to our situation. I was finally learning the tools that I needed to help our family. And our son was learning new coping skills that were manageable in our busy lives. If I couldn’t make it in for an appointment, I always knew I could call her. She never made me feel like I was bothering her & she always calls me right back. I will continue to use Jennifer’s advice & hopefully learn new ideas as our children grow older & face new challenges. Our son is happy now that he has learned healthy ways to express how he is feeling. I would definitely recommend Jennifer!” – Jennifer P. (Relieved Mother)
“Jennifer has been a ongoing source of salvation for our family! Not only has she helped our children through daily challenges and life changes, she has provided us strategies and skills as parents and people. A main focus of Jennifer’s coaching approach is changing how you think about things, tasks and yourself. I hear my young children stating these techniques aloud when they are coping and enduring the many demands of life and growth. For example, I heard my oldest daughter tell her sister regarding anxiety of the deep end of the pool at camp, ‘just tell yourself-I can do it!’ Jennifer advocates for the well being of children and families. She attended a school team conference with me to support the best educational experiences for my daughter. Her expertise and execution in psychology, children’s development and parenting has been a positive and outstanding influence for the spirit and welfare of our family.”

“We were referred to Successful Parenting by our family physician when our 12-year-old daughter was struggling with her self esteem, struggling with the loss of a friend, and faced changes in our family structure. Jennifer’s warm and friendly approach with our daughter was wonderful. Our daughter opened up to Jennifer, felt extremely comfortable with her and was on her way to feeling confident, self-assured and well-equipped to deal with loss in a very short time. I would highly recommend Successful Parenting to other parents. Taking our daughter to Successful Parenting was one of the best decisions we made; our daughter is confident and still feels like she can reach out to Jennifer whenever she needs or wants to.”

“Jennifer really helped our daughter work through her frustrations and anxiety issues. We had seen a counselor before but all he did was explain that it was okay to feel angry and frustrated at times (which our daughter already knew). Jennifer helped us identify the triggers for our daughter’s stress and frustration, and more importantly, helped her identify and diffuse her emotions before she got to the point of a melt down. Now she (and we) can identify when she’s headed for a blow up and can take the steps that can help us avert a bad situation. The best part is that Jennifer worked with our daughter to find the activities/actions that our daughter believes help her relax the most, so she’s invested in the solution and has more control over her emotions, actions, and the ultimate outcome. Our daughter still experiences stress and frustration (as most kids do) but now thanks to Jennifer she has healthier and more appropriate ways of dealing with those situations and emotions.”

“I was referred to Jennifer Szeghi as a co-parenting coach through my divorce. It was not only the hardest time in my life but for my children as well (4 & 7). Being a man I was very apprehensive about accepting any form of third-party assistance in working through the matter. My ex-wife and I were angry, hurt and wasting any energy we had on attacking each other. Seeking professional help is truly the best thing we could have ever done. Jennifer was very knowledgeable, patient and sometimes scary accurate on the timeline of set goals to help us get life back on track an move forward as a separate family. My opinion as a loving father is that my children are worth asking for directions at least once in awhile. Our family rebuilt separately and happier than ever proving life does go on. I highly recommend Successful Parenting!”
